Corornavirus Update 4-6-20

Dear Parishioners,

If you are following the lectionary readings we see the plot against Jesus starting to come together. Judas is upset that Mary wasted perfumed oil to anoint Jesus’ feet. We find out that Judas didn’t care about the poor but wanted the money since he would steal from the common purse. We also see the Chief Priest plotting to kill Jesus and Lazarus because people were starting to follow Jesus because of Lazarus. The two, Judas and the Chief Priest, will come together later in the week.

I received some good news from the Marlboro Food Bank. Although Trinity Church and the Food Bank remain closed, the Food Bank volunteers are going to reach out to their regular clients to make sure they have what they need. If you know anyone in need, please contact me. We have volunteers who are ready to go shopping and deliver groceries. After almost three weeks of isolation, there may be people whose cupboards are getting bare.

Because of the situation, the Gabriel Project was unable to hold its annual gala. This is their major fundraiser. If you would like to contribute to the Gabriel Project, here is a link where you can make a contribution.

I’ve been trying to come up with a way to hear Confessions. I’ve decided that I will keep the already scheduled Confession times for Good Friday and Holy Saturday from 10 am to Noon. However, I will hear Confessions on the back patio of the new Rectory. Please park in the church parking lot and walk down the driveway on the north side of the Church. I will have chairs set up at an appropriate distance.

God bless you all during this Holy Week. Fr. LaHood
