Coronavirus Update 4-17-20

Dear Parishioners,

The guidelines for opening up the economy came out yesterday. It does not look good for Maryland. You need 14 days of decreasing cases of the virus to even begin to move into phase 1. We are still growing in our number of cases. It may be weeks even before we can get to phase 1. Churches will not be able to open until phase 3. I’m afraid we are in for a long period without public Masses or sacraments.

I confirmed with the Archdiocese that outdoor Adoration is allowed even during this time of the stay at home order. Of course, everyone must stay in his car. We will have Adoration in the parking lot this Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The weather forecast has improved for Sunday. This time period will put us in the warmest part of the day. Also, we can conclude at 3:00 pm with the recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I will lead that over the Church outdoor loudspeakers. If you have a pick-up or SUV please park along the sides or back of the parking lot. Also, park so as to face the back of the Church.

I will also hear confessions Saturday afternoon from 4-5 pm on the patio behind the new rectory. Please park in the Church parking lot and walk back to the patio.

Have a Blessed Easter Week, Fr. LaHood
