St. Mary of the Assumption hosts five distinct choirs. Individual choirs welcome singers and instrumentalists of all ages and abilities. Your time offered is really very limited and yet your talent and gift of music shared with the community is so valued.
Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord!
Specializes in traditional hymns as well as beautiful choral and instrumental antiphon. Rehearsals are every Sunday at 11:00 A.M. The choir sings at the 11:30 A.M. Mass. Additional singers and instrumentalists are very much welcomed and will find the challenge of part-singing and climbing the stairs to the choir loft very enjoyable.
And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, you King of saints. – Revelation 15:3
This group leads the congregation in traditional and newer contemporary song at the 9:30 A.M. Sunday Mass on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sundays. Additional singers and instrumentalists are always welcome in this “family” of musicians. A fantastic voice and a lot of time are not required. Students of Middle School and High School age are especially invited to join in this fulfilling ministry. Practice is held in the church on select Sundays before the 9:30 A.M. Mass.
My song will keep your fame alive forever, and everyone will praise you for all time to come. – Psalm 45:17
Features traditional and contemporary Gospel hymns, lifting their voice in praise at the 5:30 P.M. Saturday Mass. Swing, sway, and clap your hands in inspirational song. Rehearsals are on every other Wednesday evening from 7:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. in the church.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” – Colossians 3:16
Meets on the Fourth Sunday of the month at the 9:30 A.M. Mass with rehearsal beginning at 8:45 A.M. All children Grades 1 to 8 are invited to participate in “making a joyful noise.”
“Serve the LORD with gladness; come before His presence with singing.” – Psalm 100:2
Full choral harmonies and instrumental presentations feature music of diverse liturgical genres for special occasions: Dedication, Installation, Confirmation, Easter Triduum, and Lessons & Carols. Experience the fullness of a large, professional choir.
“All creatures in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, and all that is in them, were singing. I heard them say, “May praise and honor for ever and ever be given to the One who sits on the throne and to the Lamb! Give them glory and power for ever and ever!”” – Revelations 5:13
