We had a zoom meeting of the Dean’s yesterday. We discussed the process for opening up churches once the civil authorities allow that. There’s a lot to think about. A couple of thoughts are to have outdoor Mass or to have Mass in the gymnasium. There’s a lot to think about. A couple of thoughts are to have outdoor Mass or to have Mass in the gymnasium. I don’t think we could use the church, with its narrow pews and aisles, it is not conducive to social distancing. I went to the gymnasium and set up chairs 6 feet apart. The problem is, at that distance, we can only have 66 places in the gymnasium. That’s why I want to consider the possibility of having Mass in the field next to the school. I still need to get approval from the archdiocese for an outdoor Mass. We’ll have to wait on that. The other alternative is to have several Masses in the gymnasium. We have to figure out a way for people to sign up to go to Mass. Please continue to pray for this, for the reopening and for the best way to re-open the church.
