Coronavirus Update 4-19-20
Dear Parishioners,
Today is Divine Mercy Sunday, the Second Sunday of Easter. We implore the Lord to have mercy on us and on the whole world. The whole world is suffering from the virus. This gives us a profound image of the world that is suffering from sin. God’s mercy is most manifest in the forgiveness of sins. But, His mercy is not exhausted by the forgiveness of sins. God wills our happiness and his providence is directed to our eternal and temporal good. We can hope and pray that His mercy will be manifested in halting this pandemic and our return to normal, social life. Of course, God’s providence will not leave us unchanged. We can pray that a greater respect for life and a greater appreciation of what God has given to us many be manifest among us all.
