Coronavirus Update 4-16-20
Dear Parishioners,
The weather forecast for Sunday is improving. It looks as if the rain will hold off until late afternoon. I will let you know tomorrow what times we will have Adoration in the Church parking lot.
If you concerned about receiving the indulgence for Divine Mercy Sunday here is an article that explains how you can gain the indulgence in these times of social distancing: https://www.thedivinemercy.org/articles/what-do-divine-mercy-sunday
The number of new cases in Maryland keeps stubbornly climbing while the number of hospitalized seems to keep holding steady at about another 200 a day. The media says we are a week to ten days behind New York. We can hope that by next week we start to see our numbers coming down.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus appears to the Apostles and diciples. He proves to them that he is not a ghost. Their belief in his resurrection is not just to restore their relatioship with him but so that they could be witnesses to the ends of the earth. The belief in the resurrection was not just for Mary Magdalene, the disciples on the way to Emmaus. nor to the Apostles themselves. This belief is for all the world. We believe because of their witness.
Have a Blessed Easter Week. Fr. LaHood
