Confirmation Preparation
Confirmation Preparation for Youth (8th Grade)
Eighth graders who desire to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation must participate in the Parish–wide preparation program under the direction our Parish Coordinator for Religious Education. This program begins a few weeks after the school year begins.
How do we prepare?
Through a combination of weekly classes, mandatory assignments (to include a saint report and service hours), and a day-long retreat, we help our 8th graders prepare to receive their final sacrament of initiation.
We use the YOUCAT Confirmation Prep Program to help our young people prepare. Click here to see a sample of what your child can look forward to learning!
Who participates in this parish preparation program? Eighth graders who are:
- Attending St. Mary of the Assumption School
- Parishioner attending another Catholic School
- Attending St. Mary’s School of Religion (CCD); or
- Homeschooled in an approved Catholic Program.
Required Parent Meeting for School Year 2023-2024 (NEW)
More information on the Confirmation Program will be provided at the meeting for parents on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 6:45p.m. in the St. Mary’s School Multi-purpose Room. At least one parent must attend. Please bring your child to the meeting.
To register your child for Confirmation, please register them for CCD first! Our CCD Faith Formation program is integrated and linked with all of our Sacrament Prep for children in 2nd and 8th grades.
