What is the Food Bank?

St. Mary of the Assumption Parish is one of the local churches that helps to support the Marlboro Food Bank. The Marlboro Food Bank is housed at the Family Life Center behind St. Mary of the Assumption School at 4610 Largo Road, Upper Marlboro, MD. At St. Mary’s, food is collected at the Masses on the first full weekend of each month and is transported to the Family Life Center by volunteers for distribution on the second Saturday of each month.

What type of Food is Needed?

St. Mary’s collects non-perishable food items such as peanut butter, jelly, soup, cereal, spaghetti noodles and sauce, canned vegetables, canned meat, tuna, canned fruit, fruit juices, etc.

How Can I help?

  • Donation of Food: You can drop off food items (as described above) inside the side door of St. Mary’s church on the first full weekend of each month. Please always check the expiration date on donated food since the Marlboro Food Bank cannot accept expired food.
