The history of Black Catholics in America

Many of our parishioners represent Black families that have been Catholic since, perhaps, colonial days. How many of our parishioners now are even aware that the aisle that runs across the middle of our Church was actually a barrier separating Blacks from Whites? We can be thankful those days are over while seeking in our own lives to put away all prejudice and to love each other as brothers and sisters in the Faith. Here is an article briefly outlining the history of Black Catholics in America.
